Application Process

The Abroadline application process:

A student or a parent/guardian reaches out to Abroadline through direct call, email, or via contact form.

They will be paired with a personal education advisor who will schedule an initial phone call at a time that suits them best.

The advisor will have a conversation about the student's educational history, language skills, nationality, interests, grades, and financial situation. The goal is to offer realistic and personalised university suggestions.

After the phone call, an email will be sent to provide the student with initial recommendations or options to consider and assess.

Once the student has made their final course selection, their personal advisor will support them throughout the application process. Additionally, the advisor will provide guidance on meeting language and visa requirements effectively.

Upon receiving all the required documents, Abroadline will directly submit the application. However, in certain cases, the student may need to submit it themselves, and in such situations, their personal advisor will provide comprehensive assistance.

As soon as the outcomes of the applications become available, the student will be promptly notified.

If the application is not successful, Abroadline will assist in finding alternative study options or pathways to pursue.

The requirements for studying at a UK university can vary depending on the university and program you’re applying to. Factors such as your academic background, language skills, experience, and qualifications may be taken into account.

If English is not your first language and you want to study in the UK, you will need to take an English language test. Universities usually specify which test they prefer and the required results. The most commonly accepted English tests are IELTS and TOEFL, followed by PTE Academic and English Advanced. There are IELTS centers and language centers worldwide where students can prepare for these exams.

Some UK universities do not accept TOEFL and instead require students to take the IELTS exams. To find out the TOEFL requirements for a specific university, you can visit here or contact us directly to inquire about the language requirements.

When applying to UK universities, they will consider various factors, including:

Once you are ready to apply to university, we will either directly submit your application to the universities or guide you on how to submit it through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) if required, which is necessary for some undergraduate degrees.

Fees and Scholarships

The fees for universities in the UK vary depending on the institution and the level of study. Generally, prestigious universities, life science degrees (including medicine), and postgraduate and doctorate degrees tend to have higher fees.
The tuition fees usually include:

However, in addition to tuition fees, students are also responsible for other expenses such as printing, textbooks, course materials, personal technology, and computers. Some universities may have lending schemes to assist low-income students with these costs. Other expenses that students need to consider include travel costs and living expenses.

The tuition fees for international students in the UK vary depending on the university and can change each year. According to Save The Student, undergraduate international fees ranged from £9,250 to £39,475 in 2019, and up to £61,435 for medicine degrees. For postgraduate degrees, international fees ranged from £5,000 to £35,750, with £47,100 for medical degrees and £57,200 for MBA programs. You can find more information on this topic in the provided article.

International students may have the opportunity to apply for scholarships, grants, or bursaries. Scholarships are offered by universities, employers, or organizations and can assist with both living costs and tuition fees. They are awarded based on academic achievement, sports, music, or other criteria. Bursaries, on the other hand, are provided to low-income households and help with living costs. Grants are offered by charities or trusts that represent underprivileged groups, providing support for living expenses. More details can be found in the provided link.

At Abroadline, we can assist students who wish to study in the UK in securing scholarships or applying for funding.

Visas

Obtaining a Tier 4 study visa to study in the UK is a simple and straightforward process. You can apply either at the British embassy in your country or online through the official UK government website. To apply for a student visa, you need to be above 16 years of age. Individuals below 16 can apply for a child student visa.

If you are applying from outside the UK, you can apply for your visa from 6 months before the start of your course. If you are already in the UK, you can apply as early as 3 months before your course starts.

The application process for a student visa usually involves providing identification verification, parental consent (for individuals aged 16-17), and may include a visa appointment. It’s important to note that you must first be accepted onto a university program before applying for a UK visa. Once accepted, you will receive a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) code, which you need to include in your visa application within 6 months of receiving it.

Postgraduate students studying medicine or dentistry can apply for a student visa only if they have completed a recognized degree in the UK, spent 1 year of their studies leading to that degree in the UK, or obtained a degree from a registered student sponsor.

For courses longer than 6 months, you are allowed to arrive in the UK up to a month before the start of your course. For courses shorter than 6 months, you can arrive a week earlier. Your student visa will be valid for the duration of your course.

The current visa fees are £348 for individuals applying from outside the UK and £475 for those applying within the UK (for visa extensions or switching to a student visa). You can find the most up-to-date information regarding costs and conditions on the UK government website.

For courses shorter than 6 months, individuals from certain nationalities can enter the UK without a visa. You can check the eligible nationalities on the provided link. If your nationality is not eligible for visa-free entry but you wish to study a short course, you can apply for a short-term study visa.
